Letter from our President & CEO
Dear friends,
Our 2024-25 season sparked incredible momentum for YoungArts as we seek to ambitiously expand our reach and impact on artists throughout the country. As the national arts ecosystem continues to evolve and adapt, YoungArts strives to serve as a catalyst and connector for artists and the resources that propel their careers, and as a stronghold for community, connection, inspiration and experimentation.
Programming and partnerships throughout the year brought these goals to life and put on display the immense talent and ingenuity of our artist community, with cash awards, performances and exhibitions, and convenings serving artists across generations, disciplines and geographies. With activations in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, Nashville and beyond, artists animated our organization’s immense breadth and growing presence across the country.
As we continue on our growth path, I’m particularly proud of YoungArts’ nimbleness and ability to adapt to rapidly changing needs. In response to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles in January 2025, we quickly shifted our Microgrants program to provide special financial support to those artists most impacted totaling $136,000 in support, alongside evolving the curriculum for our YoungArts Lab: Los Angeles program to provide space for healing and creative expression to our youngest community members in the L.A. area. In a time of immense challenge, we were honored to stand alongside artists and play a small part in their journey toward restoration and recovery.
The coming year is sure to be pivotal as we accelerate toward our 45th anniversary and aim to reach even more artists across our ever-growing community. Nurturing an organization that listens to artists and looks toward the future requires the commitment and imagination of so many members of our community, from artists, to donors, to partners and beyond. We’re grateful to be on this journey together with you and thrilled for what’s to come.
Onward–

Clive Chang
