About the Event

Through symbolic objects and explorative live performances, David Correa (2017 Visual Arts) challenges traditional perceptions of labor and the human form. Curated by Catherine Camargo (2017 Visual Arts), the activation will feature remnants and artifacts from these past performances, with Correa’s debut short film, Weeping a Petroleum Lubricant, serving as the centerpiece. The film depicts the struggle and transformation of “the Boy” character—a figure embodying the tension between survival and exploitation.

This activation is presented as part of the YoungArts Summer Residency.
