About the Event
In partnership with Pomegranate Arts, Adrian Zaragoza (2022 Classical Music) is one of 10 pianists selected to perform Philip Glass’s Piano Etudes at Lincoln Center on November 19.
Based in California, Adrian has been playing piano since he was 4 years old. He currently studies at the Curtis Institute of Music as the Hirsig Family Fellow, under the tutelage of Professor Michelle Cann. Adrian has won top prizes in several international competitions and has made appearances on Philadelphia’s WRTI classical radio, a Pod of Hope and Vienna Live with Simeon Morrow.
Philip Glass conceived The Etudes as a set of 20 works for solo piano written to improve his own performance technique. The evening, produced by Pomegranate Arts, celebrates the release of the book “Philip Glass Piano Etudes,” a boxed set that includes the Complete Etudes 1-20 and a selection of essays. This rare concert performance of all 20 of his etudes is an evening of master piano works for the 21st century.
