Join French/Malagasy pianist and composer Mathis Picard (2014 Jazz) at Joe’s Pub for a truly unique evening of musical offerings.
7:00 PM: Mathis Picard Preludes & Fugues Premier
This show will be a world premiere of Picard’s first book of Preludes & Fugues. Written to inspire the next generation and lovers of solo piano, Picard takes on a contemporary take of the classical format, bringing in elements of improvisation, jazz and classical music.
9:30 PM: Mathis Picard & The Sound Orchestra
This show will be the return of Picard’s large ensemble, The Sound Orchestra, as they perform their latest compositions with New York’s finest musicians.
