About the Event
YoungArts presents Future Visions, a celebration of filmmaking and storytelling, examining the use of cinema to expand and challenge how our nation understands the humanity of its everyday citizens. Hosted by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Tarell Alvin McCraney (1999 Theater) and curated by Gabriel Gomez (2009 Film), Future Visions features five short screenings by filmmakers Paulís Cofresí Cartagena (2022 Film), Tangier Dortch (2021 Film), Nathan Ginter (2018 Film & U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts), Thomas Kim (2019 Film) and Teddy Alvarez-Nissen (2019, 2020 Film & U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts).
A conversation between the filmmakers will follow the screenings.
